Thematic Focus

Organisational Strenghtening

RACE’s institutional strengthening thematic focus is dedicated to enhancing the capacity of non-profit organizations and civil society leaders, enabling them to foster dynamic leadership, technical expertise, and robust management systems. This capacity building is essential for these organizations to advocate effectively for their constituencies.

In the context of digital engagement, we support organizations in developing policies that address governance, strategy, advocacy, and operational challenges. Our programs provide a nuanced understanding of how organizations can navigate and thrive amidst diverse social, political, and economic dynamics, particularly in the digital realm.

Through our initiatives, organizations are equipped with resilience strategies, tactics, and tools, facilitated by traditional training and mentoring. Our expert team of organizational coaches serves as mentors, providing guidance and connecting organizations to a network of resource partners for expanded opportunities. This holistic approach not only strengthens their capacity to engage digitally but also empowers them to harness technology for advocacy and outreach, ensuring that their voices are amplified in the digital landscape.

RACE Africa’s focus on digital engagement within our capacity-building efforts will enable organizations to effectively utilize digital platforms, ensuring safe and inclusive spaces for advocacy that reflect the needs and rights of the most vulnerable populations.

Gender justice

We advocate for the rights of the most vulnerable groups, particularly women, girls, and young people. With a focus on gender justice, RACE is dedicated to establishing more equitable social structures and power dynamics.

In the digital age, ensuring digital accountability is paramount. Big tech companies hold significant power over communication and information dissemination. We push for stronger regulations that hold these companies accountable for their practices, particularly regarding user privacy, data protection, and the prevention of harmful content.

Creating safe digital spaces is a critical priority. This not only involves protecting users from online harassment and abuse but also ensuring that marginalized voices are heard and respected. By fostering environments where individuals can engage freely and safely online, we promote inclusivity and equality in the digital landscape. Our commitment extends to advocating for policies that combat digital discrimination and promote equitable access to technology, ensuring that all individuals can thrive in a digital world.

Our initiatives aim to promote legislation and policies that address discrimination, provide protection from violence and abuse, and support the realization of sexual and reproductive health rights. We strive to protect and expand the civic space for women human rights defenders and women’s movements, facilitating equal participation of women, men, and sexual minorities in political, economic, social, and civic arenas. Additionally, we are committed to transforming discriminatory social norms to create a more just and equitable society.

We believe in the power of collaboration. Partner with us to amplify our impact and reach more communities.
