The project is implemented under the gender justice thematic focus. It was conceived based on the fact that curbing gender-based violence is undermined by limited investment in programs on shifting negative social norms through Traditional or faith-based institutions. It against this backdrop that Ford Foundation under the Gender and Racial Justice program commissioned a mapping to identify the key players in the GBV prevention ecosystem with particular emphasis on those working with traditional, religious and cultural leaders, institutions, organizations and/or individuals across specific states in Nigeria and regionally, to shift social and religious norms that amplify GBV.
