Mr. Chris Ngwodo

Board

Chris Ngwodo is the Director General of the Office for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience (OSPRE), Nigeria’s centre for the coordination of early warning and early response – a position to which he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2022.

From 2015 to 2018, he served on the Presidential Initiative on the North-East (PINE) which metamorphosed into the Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative (PCNI) where he worked on the Nigerian government’s high-level coordination of efforts to rehabilitate, reconstruct, and secure the insurgency-afflicted region of North-East Nigeria. During that period, he worked with the North-East Recovery and Stabilization Programme (NERSP), where he advised on projects funded by the World Bank and the African Development Bank. He also served as a member of the Expert Working Group on Drug Control convened by the President of the Senate to work on drug control legislation in 2018.

He is also a member of the Presidential Working Group on Police Reform. Until his current assignment, Chris Ngwodo served as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy Research in the Office of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria an office to which he was appointed in 2019. In this capacity, he provided research, analysis and advisory on a broad range of areas including human security, police reform, conflict, and security sector-related issues.
